Polish Steel Association is member of The World Steel Association. The World Steel Association (worldsteel ) represents around 170 steel producers (including 17 of the world's 20 largest steel companies), national and regional steel industry associations, and steel research institutes. WSA members produce around 85% of the world's steel.
Aims and objectives
worldsteel's mission is to provide a forum for the world steel industry to address the major strategic issues and challenges it faces on a global basis. WSA also facilitates the benchmarking of best-practice amongst its members in all aspects of the steel business.
worldsteel promotes steel and the steel industry to customers, the industry and general media, and the general public. It assists its members to develop the market for steel. worldsteel has active projects in the following industry sectors:
- automotive
- construction
- stainless steel
- packaging
worldsteel promotes a zero-accident working environment for steel industry employees and contractors.
worldsteel was founded as International Iron and Steel Institute on 19 October 1967. It is a non-profit research organisation with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. In April 2006, worldsteel opened a second office in Beijing, China
